The work of making Digital Life Certificate has been started by the Department of Posts. The Department of Posts is making life certificates of all retired employees, officers from Government of India, Government of Bihar as well as Public Sector Undertakings. It is being made free of charge in the post offices, but a fee has to be paid for getting it made sitting at home.
Life certificate is also being made in branch post offices
Post Master General of Eastern Region Manoj Kumar said that along with head post offices, life certificates are also being made in branch post offices. Digital life certificate is generated through PPO number, Aadhaar card and thumb impression. It automatically goes to the pensioner’s department. He said that life certificate is made in post offices without any fee.
Post office employees giving door step service
Retired employees, irrespective of the department they belong to, do not have to pay the fee. For such elderly people who cannot go to the post offices, their life certificates are being made by the employees of the concerned post offices at home. Post office employees carry the device with them. After filling the necessary information in the device, OTP comes on the pensioner’s mobile. After this the life certificate is generated, and its information is also available.
Can download life certificate
Pensioners can also download it. However, a fee of Rs 70 has to be paid for this facility. Pensioners can get life certificate made by contacting their nearest post offices. Manoj Kumar said that this service is being made available across Bihar including Patna.
