Amit Shah To Meet Singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s Family In Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Parents of Punjab singer Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moose Wala met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh on Saturday. A day earlier, Moose Wala father had written a letter to Shah demanding a central agency probe into his son’s murder. It is being told that Sidhu Moose Wala parents talked to Amit Shah for about 10-15 minutes. During this, the family members of Moose Wala have demanded a high-level inquiry from Shah into the murder. During this, many big leaders of BJP were also present. Amit Shah is currently in Punjab for a meeting with BJP leaders. During this, the law and order situation is likely to be discussed.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had on Friday resolved to put the killers behind the bars at the earliest. He had assured the victim’s family, “The police have got important clues regarding the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala and the day is not far when we will nab the culprits.” The Chief Minister said that Moose Wala was a multi-talented artist who was blessed with a mesmerizing voice and creativity. He said that his untimely and sad demise has dealt a big blow to the music industry and especially to millions of his fans. Less than 24 hours after the government cut his security, Moose Wala was shot dead by gangsters near his native village in broad daylight on May 29.

Significantly, a leader of the BJP’s Punjab unit on Friday moved the Supreme Court, urging a CBI probe into the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala. In the petition filed by Jagjit Singh, it has been said that the involvement of inter-state and international criminals is suspected in the murder of Moosewala, hence the investigation of the case should be done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It said that the state administration has not only “miserably failed” in preventing the crime, but has also failed to stop the clash of gangs creating an “atmosphere of fear and terror” in Punjab.
