Rent Revision Committee made this recommendation

Let us tell you that in April, the government had formed a 13-member fare revision committee. The committee had recommended an increase of Re 1 per kilometer in fares for three-wheelers and up to 60 per cent increase in taxi fares.

Base fare should also be increased

Officials said the meter down fee for auto rickshaws will be increased to Rs 30 from the earlier base fare of Rs 25 and Rs 11 per kilometer instead of Rs 9 and a half. Similarly, meter down charges for taxis will now be Rs 40 instead of Rs 25.

App based operators have already increased fares

At the same time, for non-AC taxis, Rs 17 instead of Rs 14 per kilometer and Rs 20 instead of Rs 16 for AC taxis. The app-based operators had already increased the fares while there was no revision in the fares of auto rickshaws and taxis which are governed by the rules of the government.
