How much fund was allotted
The budget has increased the allocation for the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) with a budget estimate of Rs 5,431.56 crore in FY 2023-24 as compared to Rs 3,582.51 crore in FY 2022-23.

It has been said in the statement that in the financial year 2023-24, a significant increase of 15.5 percent has been recorded in the defense pension budget. In absolute terms, this amount is Rs 1,38,205 crore in BE 2023-24, while in BE 2022-23 this amount was Rs 1,19,696 crore.

In addition, the RE 2022-23 allocation registers a significant increase of 28 per cent at Rs 1,53,415 crore, which is Rs 33,718 crore. This includes an amount of Rs 28,138 crore to meet the requirement on account of revision of Armed Forces pensioners/family pensioners under One Rank One Pension (OROP).
