Digital Passbook is used to track PF balance, contribution made by the employer and interest earned on their PF account. Apart from this, the e-passbook can also be used as a proof of PF contribution and balance amount details while applying for a loan or other finance service.
The facility of e-passbook for PF account is available only for those employees who have registered their UAN number with the EPFO portal. Let us take a look at how to register UAN number on EPFO portal and access EPF passbook.
How to Register UAN on EPFO Portal
- Go to the official website of EPFO – epfindia.gov.in.
- Now click on For Employees inside Our Services section.
- Select UAN Member e-Sewa option from the drop-down menu and click on Sign in.
- Click on Activate UAN located below the login form on the login page.
- Now enter your UAN, name, date of birth, mobile number and captcha code.
- Click on Get Authorization PIN.
- You will get an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter OTP and click on Submit.
- Once the OTP is verified, you will be asked to create a password for your UAN account.
Enter the password and click on Submit.
As soon as this process is complete, you will get a confirmation message on your registered mobile number and email address. Once the UAN is activated, you can login to your account using your UAN and password. You will be able to download your EPF passbook after 6 hours of completion of registration of UAN number on EPFO portal.
