A pushback towing vehicle had caught fire in the cargo area. Soon after, fire tenders were called to the spot and the fire was brought under control very quickly. The cause of the fire is not clear yet. The fire caused panic at the airport for some time.

Fire also broke out at Bhalswa landfill site
Apart from the airport, a fire broke out at the Bhalswa landfill site in North Delhi on Friday afternoon. Fire brigade officials said that they received information about the fire at 1:52 pm. After which 5 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the spot. However, the fire was brought under control after some time.
Earlier on April 26, a fire broke out at the Bhalswa landfill site. This year the Ghazipur landfill site in East Delhi has witnessed five fires. It took more than 50 hours to control the fire that broke out there on March 28.
