Ration Card Latest News: If you are a ration card holder then this news is useful for you. Many types of facilities have been started by the Central Government for the ration card holders. Apart from this, many state governments also bring schemes from time to time for ration card holders. In this sequence, Tamil Nadu Government had announced to give Pongal gift in the last days. Under this, CM MK Stalin had instructed to give Rs 1,000-1,000 to ration card holders on the occasion of Pongal festival.

Start giving benefits to the needy

Now the government has started giving its benefits to the needy. This scheme was launched by the state government on 9th January. During this, distribution of ‘Pongal Gift Hampers’ worth Rs 1107 to the eligible families was started. According to the information given by the government, in addition to Rs 1000 in cash, the gift hamper contains Rs 35.20 per kg sugar, Rs 39.27 per kg sugar and Rs 33 Panneer Karumbu.

Tokens were distributed on behalf of the government

Under this scheme of the state government, ‘Pongal gift hamper’ will be given to all two crore ration card holders of the state. Chief Minister Stalin started the scheme about a week ago and tokens were distributed on behalf of the government. This decision of the government will put a burden of about Rs 2356.67 crore on the exchequer. This festival will be celebrated across the state on January 15.

Even before this, in 2015, the Tamil Nadu government had given a gift hamper. In 2019, Rs 1000 was transferred to the needy families, Rs 2500 in 2020 and Rs 2500 in 2021 as well. This facility is given to the people by the government so that all the people of the state can celebrate this festival happily. Apart from this, rice, sugarcane and sugar are also given. For the first time this scheme was started in 2014.
