New Delhi. Eight Vande Bharat Express trains are running in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that by August 15, 2023, 75 Vande Bharat trains would be run in the country. It is expected that an announcement regarding this will be made in the budget to be presented on February 1, 2023. The train will also land on the tracks in the sleeper version.

This will be the speed of the train (Vande Bharat Train Speed) In this context, the officials said that the sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express has been in limelight from the beginning. It is attracting travelers. The sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express will be designed to travel at a speed of 220 kmph.

Tender issued for trains

Railway has issued tender for 400 Vande Bharat trains and this work will be approved by the end of this month. The first batch of such trains could also be the sleeper version of the indigenously built trains. Meanwhile, four leading domestic and foreign companies have come forward to produce the trains, reports PTI.

First 200 Vande Bharat trains will be like Shatabdi

As per the plan, the first 200 Vande Bharat trains will have Shatabdi Express-like seating arrangement and will be designed to travel at a speed of 180 kmph. However, keeping in mind the safety and security of the railway track, the speed of trains will be limited to 130 kmph. Officials said that these trains will be made of steel. The second batch of 200 Vande Bharat trains will be sleeper and will be made of aluminium.

The official said that for the sleeper Vande Bharat trains, tracks of Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata railways are being repaired, signal system, bridges are being fixed and fencing work is going on.

In the next two years, 400 trains will be produced at ICF in Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Latur Rail Factory in Maharashtra and Sonipat in Haryana, the official said. Currently, eight Vande Bharat Express trains are running on different routes in the country, the latest of which is the Secunderabad- Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express, which connects Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
