UAE Entry Rule Change: People with such passports will no longer be able to travel to this country, changes in rules

New Delhi: Travelers with a single name on the Indian passport will not be able to travel to the United Arab Emirates ie UAE. UAE authorities have told trade partner Indigo Airlines that passengers with the same name on the passport traveling on tourist, travel or any other type of visa will not be allowed to arrive in/from the UAE.

This means that people traveling to the UAE will now need to specify both the first and last part of their name. A statement from the airlines said that this rule has come into effect from 21 November 2022 as per the instructions of the UAE authorities.

These people will not be allowed to travel

The UAE authorities also said that travelers with single name on passport will be allowed to travel in case of Resident Permit or Permanent Visa, provided the same name is updated as their first name and surname. However, passengers with the same name on the passport and holding a residence permit or employment visa will be allowed to travel, provided the same name is updated in the “First Name” and “Surname” columns, the IndiGo statement said. Who will be affected

Passengers with single name on Indian passport will no longer be able to fly to UAE. Thereafter travelers to the UAE may be required to explicitly declare both first and last names. The airline has asked people to complete the necessary paperwork in this regard.
